Amarillo, TX: FMD Validation Workshop
The Panhandle Regional Planning Commission (PRPC) Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Validation Workshop was held on January 29, 2014 in Amarillo, TX.
This workshop aimed to validate the Panhandle Regional Foreign and Emerging Animal Disease (FEAD) Support Annex and the local Animal Issues plan (former AIC plan).
- Educate and inform meeting attendees on the Panhandle Regional FEAD Support Annex and the local Animal Issues attachment.
- Discuss the planning, maintenance, and updating of local Animal Issues attachment.
- Emphasize identifying local resources using scenario-based tabletop exercise on the Panhandle Regional FEAD Support Annex using a regional FEAD scenario.
This workshop consisted of presentations and two breakout sessions focusing on the planning process and a scenario discussion. This was followed by a Hot Wash. Representatives from various organizations including local, regional, state, and federal government and industry participated in the workshop.
