Yaoundé, Cameroon: Strategic Plan Development Workshop
A Strategic Plan Development Workshop was held in Yaoundé, Cameroon on October 18 – 19, 2016. The event was hosted by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Cooperative Biological Exchange Program (DTRA CBEP) in support of Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health Center for Disease Control (DLM) and in cooperation with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The purpose of this workshop was to assist the DLM with the development of a multi-year strategic plan for the Public Health Emergency Management Program. Seventeen officials from various Cameroon Ministries participated in the Workshop. The two-day workshop covered a multi-step approach towards developing a strategic plan. Key activities included identifying both internal and external stakeholders, followed by listing organizations’ strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities. The participants also presented many of the ongoing challenges and issues, which will be addressed in the strategic plan.
