Warsaw, Poland: EPIFAKTOR #3 Tabletop Exercise (TTX)
The Transatlantic Collaborative Biological Resiliency Demonstration (TaCBRD) EPIFAKTOR #3 Tabletop Exercise (TTX) was held on November 6-7, 2012 in Warsaw, Poland.
The workshop aimed to bring the appropriate organizations and experts together to discuss the challenges of implementing effective command and control operations during a national crisis such as a large-scale biological incident.
- Provide a forum for Polish participants to learn about the U.S. National Response Framework (NRF) and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
- Discuss the use of and lessons learned from applying the Incident Command System (ICS) during real-world incidents in the U.S.
- Discuss lessons learned from Euro Cup 2012.
- Discuss best practices in incident management.
Poland’s Ministry of Administration and Digitization's (MOAD) Department for Crisis Management and Emergency Call System hosted the workshop. There was productive discussion on responder and decision maker roles and responsibilities, and on the complexities of establishing incident command and transfer of responsibility during the different stages of an incident. Participants also discussed how to establish and maintain situational awareness.
